So a few days ago I had an allergic reaction to mango. My face swelled up a bit, turned red and well its more of a rash than a face at this point. Anyhow, here’s the thing, I knew I was allergic to mango but there are times when I eat it and nothing happens. I tested my luck and guess what, turns out I didn’t have any. My immune system decided it should teach me a lesson and therefore it had no mercy on me. It got me thinking these past few days about how often we test our luck with God. We know the difference between right and wrong. We are fairly aware of what is good and what is bad, yet we still test the Lord thinking ‘Last time He didn’t smite me, so I’m not worried, He’s merciful.” True, God is merciful but He is also just. If He sees you going about on the wrong path willingly and fully knowing its wrong He will allow it, but He doesn’t guarentee He’ll prevent you from tripping over that stray root sticking out of the ground. My point is, we all know gambling isn’t a good idea. The same way you shouldn’t test your luck, you shouldn’t test your God. Pigs will have to fly before I eat another mango. And by their own means, not by mechanical manmade machinery.
p.s. Some words I will just never figure out how to spell.
